Words of Wisdom – Part I

A wise person has teeth marks on their tongue.

Every word I speak is a chance to change something bad into something so good!

We increase what we praise.

  • Is it the truth?
  • Can I know for sure its the truth?
  • How do I behave because I believe it’s the truth?
  • How would I behave if I didn’t believe it was the truth?

Good spiritual practice — keep my mouth shut!

If (I) believe, (I) will receive whatever (I) ask for in prayer — Matthew 21:22

May He give you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed — Psalms 20:4

Put on the FULL Armor of God so that you can take your stand against Satan’s schemes — Ephesians 6:11

There are no mistakes in God’s World.Everything is exactly as it should be. The problem is me. I need to change my attitude and thinking about the situation.

When I stop reacting, they stop doing the things that made me react.

Not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord.

How often do I look up and about and appreciate, take pleasure in, and glorify the beauty of God’s world.

I can lose all things, but I can’t lose Christ. No one can take away my joy when my joy is in the Lord.

I don’t acquire Gratitude or Happiness. They are a by-product of surrendering my life and will to the care of God. Happiness is a person — happiness is Jesus Christ.

Fruit of the Spirit == Peace, Joy, Love, Patience, Self-control, Gentleness, Goodness, Thoughtfulness and Kindness. I can’t attain those. They are gifts from God. To get them, I must follow Jesus. Turn my face toward Jesus.

Don’t just like people, Esteem them. Build them up.

If I am in Christ, I’m a thermostat — I change the environment. If I’m not in Christ, I’m a thermometer — I just give the temperature around me.

If I live in Christ, I’m not concerned about me. God’s Grace turns me inside out.

Romans 1:21 — They know God, but they do not give him the honor that belongs to him,nor do they thankhim.Instead, their thoughts have become complete nonsense, and their empty minds are filled with darkness. (GNT)

Paradox of Gratitude: Those who have the most have the least gratitude. Those who have the least have the most gratitude.

The Secret of Life:

  • Worship God Ceaselessly
  • Express Gratitude
  • Love Those Around You

Dear God, please make me a better person. Remove — no tear out — my selfish, hateful heart and replace it with your compassionate, loving heart. Fill me with your spirit. Lift the ugliness and darkness of hate and anger out of me. Replace it with the joy of the Lord.

How I respond to what happens to me is more important than what happens to me.

The God in me and the God in you can do the communicating.
